Board of Director Spotlight

Board of Director Spotlight

Meet Scott Ulrich

For the past ten years, Scott Ulrich has served on LCSWMA’s Board of Directors in a variety of roles, including Chairperson.

A retired Certified General Real Estate Appraiser, Scott spent 40 years specializing in commercial, industrial, and complex residential real estate appraisals.

We asked Scott a few questions about his time at LCSWMA and life in Lancaster County.

Read his responses below:

What do you enjoy about serving on LCSWMA’s Board of Directors?

I enjoy serving on LCSWMA’s Board of Directors because there are always ongoing or new and exciting projects being discussed or put into play. I am also proud of the fact that the Authority is very environmentally conscious.

What do you love about Lancaster County?

I moved to Lancaster County in 1976 from the suburban Philadelphia area. I have always said that the quality of life in Lancaster County is much better than the area where I grew up.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself.

I spent seven years as a lifeguard on the Stone Harbor Beach Patrol. I met my wife there one summer as she was working as a Stone Harbor Beach Badge Checker. The rest is history!

About LCSWMA

LCSWMA manages the trash and recyclable materials from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania homes and businesses, as well as trash from the City of Harrisburg and surrounding Dauphin County communities. Once the waste is delivered by private haulers, LCSWMA employs a multi-step approach to disposal and processing, called an Integrated System. This Integrated System not only saves significant landfill capacity, it also creates clean, renewable energy.
