Foxes at the Landfill

May 8, 2014 ·

Our Environmental Technician recently captured this photo of three baby foxes, approximately six or seven weeks old, at the Frey Farm Landfill. Red foxes are common in Lancaster County and enjoy the open fields and farm country. In addition to these fox pups, there are at least two or three other fox families living at the site.

As a member of the Wildlife Habitat Council, LCSWMA is committed to maximizing opportunities to engage in habitat conservation. Additionally, both our closed Creswell Landfill and active Frey Farm Landfill are certified as Wildlife at Work sites, a program that seeks to create, conserve and restore wildlife habitats on corporate lands. These efforts ensure we continue seeing animals thrive in their natural habitat for years to come.
